Resolved Question: What is Norman Oklahoma like?

I am looking at moving there from Oregon with my wife and baby. What is the weather like? What are the people like? Surrounding culture etc. Is there a military base there that I could grocery shop at? Are the hospitals or medical care any good? Things round here are closed by 9p, so I'm used to that. It gets cold in the winter here, it's a pretty slow lifestyle. But what is it like in Norman Ok? How do you live with the constant threat of tornadoes? Are they really that bad? And what do you do?
